Joe was a warm and strong presence during my formative years, one that was a steady beacon for me. His quiet leadership, kind words, ready smile and firm handshake conveyed clearly to me the deep spiritual side of our humanity. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Uncle Joe was an amazing and kind person. I loved to listen to his stories and songs. I remember as a child going for boat rides; so much fun. One of my fondest most recent memories was us visiting in December of last year. Uncle Joe told stories of his army experiences and working in the steel mill. We enjoyed many laughs that evening.
